Josep Comín is a cardiologist, researcher and Director of the Cardiac Insufficiency Programme at Hospital del Mar.

Dr Comín is considered to be an eminence in the fields of cardiology, heart failure and applied research in the management of patients using telemedicine. He is vice president of the Catalan Society of Cardiology and member of the Association of Heart Failure of the European Society of Cardiology.

Having been trained in Internal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona and the hospitals of Scarborough (UK) and Bellvitge, he obtained his PhD from the UAB (Autonomous University of Barcelona), where he has worked as Associate Professor. He has also been a visiting professor at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

He has given more than 200 lectures at international symposia and has published more than 65 articles in international journals, such as The New England Journal of Medicine, European Heart Journal, Revista Española de Cardiología and Journal of Cardiac Failure
